RedHat Enterprise Networking note..

The /etc/sysconfig/network file contains the
HOSTNAME and the GATEWAY.

The /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file contains the
IPADDRess, NETMASK and BROADCAST addresses.
